Going To A Trade Show? Don’t Forget Your Display

Trade shows are expensive; you have travel and hotel expenses, meal runs, and then there’s the cost of the booth and freighting your entire inventory to the show to sell or demonstrate.  With all the expenses entailed by a trade show, it’s sometimes easy to think “I don’t really need that…” or think of certain things, like trade show display units, as a luxury rather than a necessity.

And if you’ve wandered as many exhibit halls as we have, it’s pretty clear that this is a mistake.  A trade show display puts your products/services and branding out where customers can see it; it provides you with a chance to grab the attendee’s attention and get them to visit your booth.

Like a lot of things, trade show display units have gotten cheaper, lighter, more flexible and durable; they’re scalable as well.  The days of the home made displays are long since gone.  Today’s portable trade show displays are aluminum framed construction with panels that can be removed and customized with large format print artwork.  Many are modular trade show display units that can be configured for different sizes and types of booth (wall backed, island, end caps, and corner booths).

When evaluating these systems, look for how easy it is to swap out the artwork, and how quick they are to take down and pack (and how involved setting them up is).  Most of these systems focus on easy set up, and sometimes that comes at the cost of being able to take them down quickly, so always try before you buy…and remember, that they’re your “cloak of non-invisibility on a trade show floor.

Proper Use of Your Marketing Display

At a trade show, your target market customers are walking all around you- and all of your competitors. That is why Trade Show Displays are the most important first impression you may be able to give a potential customer.  There are going to be hundreds of Portable displays, modular exhibits and custom booths at your show. If your exhibit display doesn’t grab the customer’s attention right away and get them to come and talk to you about your product, then you are wasting your time and money being there.

When it comes to Exhibit Booths, it isn’t necessarily the biggest that gets all the attention.  A well thought out Trade Show Display that screams, “Come see what we have to offer” will produce better results.  A great Custom Booth may be more expensive initially, but you can use it over and over, and the new customers and sales it may generate will more than pay for itself

When you have decided to get a marketing display put together, you need to call in a professional that has the experience in exhibit design and construction. In addition they should be well versed in graphic design and printing. There are so many options available when building a custom display but don’t loose focus along the way. The main goal of the booth is branding and message recognition. You need to realize that your trade show display is an investment, just like a salesperson-it is to be designed to help make big returns in the profit column.  You want to be sure it works!
